Yesterday's total solar eclipse appears in this new piece. My being has always been so in synch with the moon that I guess it shouldn't surprise me, but I truly hadn't set out to reference the event!

I used layers of archival tissue paper and a combination of drawing and printing along with hand and machine sewing. A paper quilt...

I'm eager to try some more ideas along this line - I love using transparency in my work and the tissue paper works well to that end. I even love the way it crinkles up and moves as I sew over it, giving the work a bit of texture. I have some glassine that I might try using tomorrow.
